New rec manager hired
The Municipality of Roblin’s new recreation manager says she knew the community was struggling a bit in the recreation department.
The on-again, off-again search to find a replacement for long-time manager Trish Boguski hadn’t been going too well and she had been thinking about applying for the job.

Playoff decides Moonshine winner
It took a one-hole playoff between two former champions to determine the winner of Roblin’s postponed Roblin Moonshine Daze Men’s Open which finally played out Aug. 13 at the Roblin Golf and Country Club.
The tourney was originally slated for July 16 but had to be postponed due to a lack of entries.

NWMC holds annual meeting
The Northwest Métis Council Inc. (NWMC) held its annual regional meeting in Dauphin on August 13. Executive members from 24 Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF).
Locals in the region came in to hear about the NWMC’s year in review, projects for the future, and the launching of a new and substantial healthcare initiative.

Nabess elected chair of Roblin MMF Local
Just after the Manitoba Metis Federation (MMF) held its 2022 elections, all MMF Locals across the province have either held an election in their community or are in the process of having one.
Recently, the Roblin MMF Local held its elections and a brand new executive – which hopes to inform Métis citizens about programming and services available to them as well as promote more cultural diversity.

Fair weekend a busy one
The president of the Roblin Agriculture Society had a few choice words to describe this year’s fair and rodeo.
And ‘busier’ was one of them.
“It was busier than any of us on the board anticipated,” said an extremely satisfied and still somewhat tired Ellen Arnott in an interview Thursday.

Funk crowned king again
The Roblin Agricultural Society kicked off its first Fair & Rodeo weekend since 2019 Thursday evening with its popular King Farmer contest.
The competition, which featured a calcutta and nine different stations to test the skills needed on the farm these day, drew 10 competitors.
Mazur finding his way as an actor
It’s always kind of surreal to see someone from your hometown on the big screen in a movie.
Former Roblinite, Matt Mazur, is now living in Vancouver and has been working as an actor and appeared in some pretty notable films and television shows.
“I was always interested film and television, as well as theatre,” said Mazur. “After I graduated high school, I went to Calgary to study theatre along with marketing.
I fell in love with being in theatre and performing.
COPP needs volunteers
Did you know that the Citizens on Patrol Program (COPP) exists in Roblin??
It does and is always looking for new volunteers. If you are upset about how things may be changing in Roblin, or just want to help out your community, volunteer for COPP. Roblin is a great community with great people.

Grandview has had a long-standing history of fighting to keep health care strong in their community, whether it be recruiting physicians and nurses or rallying to keep their ambulance service local.
