After the start of the season was postponed, the Dauphin Clippers rugby teams hit the pitch, May 10, to open the Westman High School Rugby League.

Travelling to Swan River, the Clippers girls took to the field first and, in an intense battle with their Parkland rivals, came away with a 22-7 victory.

Maddie Slyziuk scored three tries and Brooke Miner had one try plus one convert.

In the boys’ match, Joseph Lopez and Trevor Boyd had three tries each to lead the Clippers to a 51-5 triumph.

Will Miner, Oliver Dandeneau, Sergio Garcia and Boston Karlson added singles, with Garcia also contributing two converts, while Karlson had one.

Clippers coach Aaron Miner said the boys were in control of their game from start to finish.
