A local volunteer with the Red Cross has been identified for her years of service and dedication to helping others during a time of crisis. Melanie Young was presented with the Order of Red Cross, the organization’s highest honour, on October 7, 2026, in The Pas, surrounded by family and friends. Young has spent over a decade helping others through the Red Cross.
“I’ve been a volunteer with the Red Cross for 14 years and am going into my fifteenth year,” said Young. “Initially, a friend who was working with the Red Cross was trying to build up a team and asked me if I would participate.
